How It Started

What is Curbside Chic?

Curbside Chic started as a fashion forward Mobile Boutique and in 2016 we opened a brick & mortar storefront bringing you all things chic. You can purchase the latest fashion trends at our storefront, via our website, on Facebook or Instagram. We strive to carry the most affordable pieces that are accessible to any budget while still being the utmost in quality.

Michele Thomas, Owner

I am very pleased that my niece, Stevi Smith has given me the opportunity to carry on with her amazing venture that she created & keep Curbside Chic in the family! I have always admired Stevi’s beauty & love of fashion & you can still expect Stevi’s style along with my personal style. I want to continue to have quality pieces for any budget as well as the personal atmosphere that Curbside Chic offers. I would not be able to start out on this venture without the help of the Curbside Chic Team, Stevi Smith, Debbie Foxworth & Makenzie McLaurin.I am looking forward to working with the current & future Curbside Chic customers!

A Letter from Curbside Chic creator, Stevi Smith

Hello Everyone! My name is Stevi Smith and I am the Founder of Curbside Chic Mobile Boutique!

With a love of all things fashion since I can even remember, my dream was to one day open my very own store. Being a stay at home mother to a toddler, the simple act of going shopping now became a luxury as I never found the time to do it or when I did, the trips ended quickly with tantrums and nap times. I found it quite challenging to go shopping as well as even get dressed on most days. I wanted to open a store but needed something that fit my busy schedule as a mother but also could fit those of other women who had the same issues whether it be stay at home moms who couldn’t leave their children, business professionals who didn’t have time after work, or even some women who just hated shopping in retail stores. I wanted to do something that was unique and personal.

Something that made shopping fun and not a chore as my husband and I began brainstorming ideas, we came across the idea of the fashion truck which was much like that of the popular food truck trend that had swept the nation. Rather than having a truck, we decided to use a trailer and convert it into a boutique with imitation wood floors and gold and crystal chandeliers. I wanted to give the feeling of an actual store that basically just came to you. I wanted everyone to feel like they had their own personal boutique with a personal shopper and stylist. My own style is easy and chic so I wanted to carry pieces that are high quality but accessible to everyone no matter their budget. My goal was to have styles that were transitional and versatile but also fun and sassy! We truly do have something for everyone no matter the budget, size or age! We began doing private parties, public events, fundraisers and markets to now selling online. It truly has been a dream come true and am so blessed by all of the love and support of my amazing family, friends and community."
